I'm Valentyn Lysenko

I recently called on Valentyn to service and bring up to pitch a 1958 Baldwin Acrosonic. I had seen this piano in the corner of a local junk shop, it looked sad, but pretty sound, and was a perfect size for my small music room. When I got it home, I knew it needed more than just a tune. Valentyn’s attention to detail and care in finding and fixing problems was at a level I would estimate as master craftsman. Valentyn, discussed various aspects of bringing the instrument up to pitch, and took great care in the process. The piano is so nice now, polished like new andI love how the piano plays and sounds, incredible job. I highly recommend Valentyn, and can say he will be the person I call in 6 months, to retune and service my new little piano.

Valentyn is a good piano tuner. He has been working on my Steinway D and I am very happy with his work. Finally I found someone that I can work with for a long time. Valentyn is conscientious at his craft and he does not seem to be in a rush going somewhere else, be it the next appointment or whatever else. My piano had an issue with some dampers that did not properly mute the strings when not lifted. He took the time to work on the culprit one by one until all the problems were resolved to my satisfaction. Some dampers that did not mute properly caused one note to sound brighter than it should because of the sympathetic resonance from those unmuted strings. Another technician looked into this but did not resolve it. Valentyn did! The piano sounds beautiful after his tunings and that is why I have him tune mine regularly. His rate is also very reasonable and that allows me to tune more often than I would otherwise. I was looking for a tuner closer to my area with flexibility in scheduling and I’m so glad I found Valentyn! I strongly recommend him as a piano tuner/technician.

Valentyne was available to come the same day and spent 5 hours on our piano that hadn’t been tuned in awhile and after a move. As many others have said, his attention to the minute details and care for our piano was above and beyond!! And super nice!

Wow, Valentyn Lysenko is a Master of Music. Our 1905 M. Schultz, Chicago upright piano probably has not sounded so beautiful in 50 years. Valentyn opened, cleaned, adjusted, oiled this old piano. Valentyn spent a lot of time getting the strings just right. He also plays beautifully. A wonderful experience! You would be luck to get him to work for you!

Valentyn Lysenko has restored something incredibly special to our family: our nearly half-century-old piano. I had no idea the extent of damage this beautiful sounding piano had sustained over the decades, and Valentyn’s impressive attention to detail not only identified these issues but also his amazing level of patience and precision restored this cherished piece of history to its original state. This was the first time I witnessed someone work with such genuine care and attention to detail when tuning a piano. I had read through many reviews before choosing a tuner based on a reasonable price, but after watching him work, I felt he deserved far more than what he charged — it was truly worth every penny. His professionalism, passion, and skill were clear from the beginning. I’m incredibly satisfied with the result, and I feel very fortunate that he also agreed to teach my child.
